In assisted reproduction treatments, every detail makes the difference. From the medical devices used at every step, the materials they are made of, to the design that will maximize the user experience.

Embryologists, in charge of manipulating embryos with high precision, play a crucial role in the success of fertility treatments. In this context, having a wide experience is important, but having high-quality tools is also essential, and among these, micropipettes stand out as the undisputed protagonists.

What makes the difference in micromanipulation?

Imagine the creation of life at the laboratory, where embryos are cultured with care and precision. Every drop of culture medium, every cell manipulated, carries with it the hope of a new life. During this delicate process, micropipettes become the extension of the embryologist’s hands, and precision becomes a determining factor.

Quality micropipettes allow embryologists to handle minute volumes with accuracy, ensuring that manipulations are performed as precisely as possible. From ICSI to biopsy, each step requires precise control that only the equipment, especially micropipettes, can provide.

The better the quality and design of the pipette, the more control and precision for the embryologist. Crafted with exquisite detail by specialist professionals and in partnership with leading clinics in Japan, Kitazato’s micro-tools are the product of excellence.

Specialists have made Kitazato’s Micro Tools their top choice and here is why:

Commitment with results and quality

Our goal is continuing to spread all over the world the best solutions by working hand in hand with science. This is the only way to guarantee results.

The use of quality micropipettes is not only about meeting standards, but they must also ensure the safety and well-being of gametes and embryos. Accurate handling reduces the risk of errors, minimizing the possibility of damage and increasing the likelihood of success in assisted reproduction procedures.

To enhance performance in laboratories procedures, Kitazato provides a wide range of microtools that will meet every preference. Embryologists will have the opportunity to choose between a variety of options of tips, walls, internal diameters depending on techniques, or angles. These options are the result of our mission, that is to guarantee precision and successful outcomes.

For this reason, here are some tips from our Kitazato’s senior embryologists to make your ICSI or biopsy procedure a total success.

For ICSI procedures, you could try to…

  • Prepare the pipettes just before starting the procedure.
  • Rinse pipette with culture medium before procedure to avoid entrance of oil.
  • Align ICSI needle spike, holding pipette and oocyte membrane to the same focal plane before starting injection.
  • Aspirate a small amount of cytoplasm when rupturing the membrane.
  • If ICSI needle is blocked, replace it by a new one.

For biopsy procedures, we recommend you to…

  • For day three embryos aspirate 1-2 blastomeres to optimize the results.
  • Biopsy pipette should be washed in clean drops between embryos.
  • For fully hatched embryos use 25 micrometers outer diameter pipettes.
  • If biopsy pipette is block use a new pipette.
  • Wear long sleeve and gloves when tubing to avoid risk of skin contamination.
  • Exhaustive training of embryologist in vitrification and biopsy.
  • Internal KPIs to monitorize outcomes.
