One of the most remarkable talks was given by Dr. Fernando Bronet, Head of the IVF and PGD Laboratories at IVI Madrid (Spain): \u201cSuccessful cryopreservation program: realization and implementation\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr. Bronet, vitrification has changed the way of working and new therapeutic options are available. Overall efficiency of cryopreservation programs has greatly improved. IVF outcomes may be improved when performing a freeze-all policy. This is a cost-effective strategy due to the reduction in the number of subsequent transfers required to obtain a baby. Also, in women who plan to delay childbearing until 40 years, oocyte cryopreservation at younger age reduces the cost to obtain a live birth.<\/p>\n<p>Egg-banking is currently a suitable approach in ART. Morphology and kinetic markers of embryo derived from vitrified donor oocytes are comparable to those from fresh donor oocytes. Oocyte vitrification and long-term cryopreservation does not increase the risk of embryonic aneuploidy or diminish the implantation potential of blastocysts created after ICSI.
